One Response to 'Bench.'

A very thought provoking scene. I noticed that there are 5 slats on each bench and that of course is a symbol for the ten commandments. The first 5 represent the first 5 commandments that have to do with our relationship with God and the other bench with 5 slats represent the second five commandments that concern our relationship with each other.

The bricks all interlocked seem to represent mankind and how we are so dependent on each other in close fellowship, at least we should be.

The steps in the background seem to represent the steps to heaven that we will assend on when we realize that we cannot keep the 10 commandments and must throw ourselves onto the mercy of God as we understand what he did for us on the cross.

The trash at the bottom of the steps seem to represent our sins that we have shed when we called On Christ to save us.

The shadows across the picture represent the night is soon coming when it will be too late to accept the message of the bench and those steps will not represent assent into heaven but will drop off into Hell!

Go forth my grandson and boldly proclaim the message of the bench far and wide. Boldly go where man or grandson has never before gone. Go to the wall at CSU be bold do not waiver, but watch out for your crazy G.G.
