I had a new idea for the design of the homepage, which you can see here. You can let me know what you think through the poll below. If you have more specific suggestions, go ahead and comment on the post.

The only problem I have is that it doesn’t scale to my window size, which I’m sure you could fix in the actual implementation??
But I actually really like the look of the current home page.

Yeah, for some reason the pdf is set to open full screen. I was thinking about a 1024×768 implementation.
I like the sq one too, but I just thought I would have fun with a lighter design. I really like the mirrored image look though. Thanks for commenting

I like the white background of the new homepage; I think it looks more professional and fresher than the current one. I don’t like the picture of the camera; that makes it look too stark. It needs to be a picture of a pretty flower or a mountain or something. I’d have to say I like the new one as much as the current one (hehe, I know that’s helpful).

I don’t really like it. It’s a good start, but I think you can make it awesomner. I’m not crazy about the font either.
I think you should have like a bunch of dragons eating each other, or something else that’s memorable.

I agree with Mark. There is something to be said for the lighter look, but you don’t want to overdo it. One thing specifically that I would change is make the navbar buttons smaller and give them a light-gray background or something to make them look a little more like buttons and not just text. Not a bad start though.

I agree with Mark, there should be something happening, like two hands drawing each other, or two dragons eating each other. I do think that I like the black better, white is too light.

Thanks everyone for voting and commenting. I don’t think I’m actually going to use the white theme, but I thought it would be fun to experiment. I’m going to try and give the homepage a makeover here in the next few weeks, but I have another project right now.
