New Look.

November 24, 2009

Well, it’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally updated the design. I hope you like it. Specifically, none of the pages come from iWeb anymore, and I designed a custom wordpress theme for the photoblog that matches the rest of the site. Along with a new look comes a new mission. I’m re-doing the galleries to be more professional, and the photoblog will now feature a new image each week.

Let me know what you think of the new design, and be sure to check out the rest of the website.

hiking in the sand.

Here is this week’s photo. I took it at Sand Dunes National Park about two years ago.

I really like the perspective in this one. The lines in the sand along with the foot prints lead your eye into the background with the hiker and the mountains, and the clouds keep it from fizzling out at the end.

Anyway, let me know what you think!

a book.

April 22, 2009

I rather unfortunately have neglected my website for a while, but with summer coming up that will hopefully change soon. But this post isn’t to complain about my laziness, but to announce that I am now a published author! Well, not really, but I did write my own book that was professionally printed and sent to me via the Blurb bookmaking service. You can find it here if you want to check out the preview. You can also buy it if you want, but don’t feel obligated at all.

Anyway, it’s not really a photography book (it actually details my years in policy debate), but I thought I would write something about it because you could very easily use the Blurb service to create a photogrpahy book. All of the pictures I used looked pretty good, the only thing I noticed was that they were slightly more saturated towards yellow than my monitor showed. But you wouldn’t notice unless you were comparing the two.

My next book will probably focus on photography, but I haven’t decided what the subject should be for it yet. Any ideas?

an update!

January 19, 2009

Well, here is this week’s photo. I actually took this one quite a while ago just up on the hill of our property. The blue cast came from photoshop, and really adds a lot to the character of the image, I think.

I’m glad I took this when I did, because not too long afterwards, we had a storm that knocked the tree down.

Anyway, let me know what you think of it!
